How can you get involved?

KAF is dependant on external funding and on the contributions of local artists, volunteers and organisations to make it what it is. If you want to continue to have a vibrant festival in your town, why not get involved and help make it happen?

Volunteers

We are working with a Volunteer Manager, Anda Phillips, who is setting up our new scheme Culture Shapers.

Culture Shapers logo Culture Shapers is a consortium of organisations affiliated with  Kidderminster Arts Festival (KAF) who contribute to the cultural landscape of Kidderminster and its surrounds.

The consortium exists to improve access to culture for local people and visitors, by supporting its member organisations to recruit volunteers, enabling them to improve the quality and quantity of their output.  By sharing resources, best practice and accessing funding, the consortium aims to improve training opportunities and offer a consistent approach to the experience volunteers have during their time with each organisation.

If you would be interested in volunteering and gaining valuable experience, meeting new people and making something fantastic happen in Kidderminster email nicola.genner@wyreforestdc.gov.uk.

You can also take a look at our facebook page where we will post opportunities as they arise.

If you are an organisation who wants to benefit from being a member of Culture Shapers or you are an organisation who has members who would like to become volunteers and can help promote the scheme, please contact nicola.genner@wyreforestdc.gov.uk or  loz.samuels@wyreforestdc.gov.uk

Artists

Every year we look out for new artists to get involved with KAF.

We want to hear your ideas well in advance; if you want to create something for the festival, we could include you in our funding applications, or direct you to funding streams to help you get your ideas off the ground.

Ideas for 2017 and 2018 are formulating now.

We generally apply for funding in November each year, to do this we need to include the proposed program of work so they can see what the festival will look like, to help them make their decision. So even if your idea is in its very early stages it’s not to early to talk to us.  Email us or call 01562 732997.

What about the money?

Fundraising is hugely important for the growth of KAF, and without funding it will cease to exist. We receive a small core grant from Kidderminster Town Council each year and need to raise at least six times this amount to deliver the festival as you  know it.

It is time consuming and funding options are limited. We hugely appreciate the support we have had so far and we are looking for ways of making the festival more sustainable, so that it will survive into the future.

If you are a company that could sponsor KAF or make another type of donation have a look at our sponsorship options.

If you would like to make a one off donation you can do it here.

WCC-colour

We have benefitted from a grant from Worcestershire County Council’s ‘Open For Business’ Fund. This has supported the festival in 2015/16 and supported us with the development of a sponsorship pack, our major commissions, development of our publicity and a newly commissioned animation by Nandita Jain to help recruit volunteers and in kind giving.

If you don’t have time to help on a practical level but can afford to help us with funding, you can donate any amount via Go Fund Me or send a cheque to Wyre Forest District Council for the attention of Loz Samuels, every little helps.

Your company may be able to offer us skills or discounted services which help us raise the funds for the following year’s festival as an ‘in kind’ contribution.

If you are an organisation or group we can display your logo on our website and future marketing material. Why not get in touch with us and see what the festival can do for your business?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and considering supporting KAF into a positive future.
